Trees & Clouds & bio-precipitation

Trees & Clouds

dt 24th July 2011.

When we think of Trees  and Clouds we mainly  think it is Clouds give Rain water to Trees- but the Hydrological cycle is a far more complex and a connected system in our universe.

Most often we just think of the rain cloud process as just earth and the air mass being heated by sun, sea water evaporation, convectional currents, air masses  circulation and finally returning to earth as droplets of Rain..but-read on:

1. Trees give microscopic nuclei for Cloud formations too.

2.All major Rain forests have dense Cloud formation above them as so much research has gone into this esp Amazon Forest

Did you know that trees contribute to releasing microscopic nuclei needed for cloud formation? Over major tropical rainforests across the world one finds rather dense cloud formations. Clouds are formed by water vapor condensing around these microscopic nuclei. Trees increase the water vapor content of the air significantly - approximately 50% of all transpiration comes from forests. Plants and leaf surface are naturally colonized by micro-organisms or bacteria , also called epiphytes, whose surface properties give them the possibility to interact with atmospheric water, helping it to condense (form clouds) and to freeze (form rain). These micro-organisms get into the atmosphere through turbulent movements linked to heat flux. Clouds, in turn, have a high albedo effect, which means they reflect the sun's radiation back into space. The more low altitude clouds created through this natural system, the faster we could potentially cool our planet. There is a lot of research being conducted around this space at the moment, and looks to be very promising for our climate issues.

TREES are sentient -have Consciousness and feelings too

 dt 23rd,July 2011.

Trees are sentient is now slowly being ackd- (sentient means-having the power of sense perception or sensation; consciousness . Thus they have thoughts , Feelings Sensitivity--and also receptivity to treatment and Care- so Moods also. This is a thought worth reflecting on in Tree Care-
Man needs Trees -But Trees also needs Man's Care & Concern
TR

quoted --from Dr.Deepak Chopra on Man & tree
Life is like a tree and its root is consciousness.
Therefore, once we tend the root, the tree as a whole will be healthy. Nature controls healing from this deeper level already, for every cell participates in the body’s inner intelligence, responding to the patient’s thoughts, emotions, desires, beliefs and self image.
Sad or depressing thoughts produce changes in brain chemistry that have a detrimental effect on the body’s physiology. Likewise, happy thoughts of all kinds, loving thoughts, thoughts of peace and tranquility, of compassion, friendliness, kindness, generosity, affection, warmth and intimacy each produce a corresponding state of physiology via the flux of neurotransmitters and hormones in the central nervous system.
We have a pharmacy inside us that is absolutely exquisite. It makes the right medicine, for the precise time, for the right target organ – with no side effects.

Trees and Plants after rains- 2

A few rain showers is all it needs -

Trees , Plants &Flowers after the Rains start- no 1.

Trees , Plants &Flowers after the Rains start- no 1

Fresh leaves grow- Every tree has a clean washed look as the dust is all cleaned off -Mother Nature in her own loving way does it all-Just two evening Rain showers in June
and lo and behold-- the trees all look so nice and fresh -red Gul Mohar in bloom , shining leaves on the Pongam (Karanja) -no wonder we Pray for Rain -the magic of Rain drops, drizzle or showers or heavy rains too-

The cycle of Rains -Monsoon in India --the process of water circulation from clouds to land and back to the ocean viz the water cycle, or hydrologic cycle...sustains life on this planet.

The Jasmine--Malati, Malli, Mallika--Motiya- ,

The Jasmine in India- in Pooja and Culture.

  • The Jasmime is perhaps most used in South India esp. in our prayers and pushapanjali offerings.
  • This flower is known by several names –at pooja time, the priests says Malati  or Mallika  in pushpa archana--Sanskrit.
  • Malli as it is called in South is a flower to offer and win a heart of all from the Gods to Mother to Wife or to sister or friend.Even in interior floral decorations esp at Weddings.
  • Then  "Malli poo" the traditional  heart winning, loving present for many of us in South, esp.-when going home from office is used the Malli Poo & Jangri-packed in a small banana leaf ..a frequent order to the flower seller  “2 Molams of  strung (woven) Malli”  with Jangri (like Jelabi) or later replaced with a Cadbury Bar !! The Jasmine in bud  blooms and and gives its delightful fragrance in the evenings –
  • But, remember: never store Malli flowers  in a fridge ..(even in a tin or packet) or delay use as they fade away and in a closed space the fragrance impacts everything else).
  • Malli-Jaadi and various kinds of same is a common call for all occasions in South India especially.
  • In Tamilnad the Jadi & Mullai jasmine flower dominate in demand for pooja or women’s wear -
  • Many varieties exist’ some have fragrance  like the creeper type– Nithya malli ;
  • Some are so pretty to look at eg.Gundu Malli – but without fragrance.
  • But all have such beauty and the pristine white colour is absolutely Divine –thus in North  India it is referred to as Motiya pearls.
  • The Bhatkal Mogra jasmine used to taken from Bhatkal to far off places –such is it’s popularity and greatness and  pride of place in Karnataka. I was reading that Mogra transcends all faiths in Karnataka as the Muslims grow them, Christians sell them as wholesalers,  Hindus as Retailers and Users  (source :in Mangalorean .com) a few years back.
  • Chameli or Motiya in hindi – compared to a Pearl
  • Chameli, Juhi, Motiya, and sees many varieties—Mahli, Juie.
  •
Flowers at Auspicious times- Vasant Pamchami, Mahashivratri, Vat savitri,  Gowri &Granesh pooja , SriKrishna Jayanti, Navaratri, Vaikunt Ekadashi,(from  Vasant-Spring time-- Magh Poornima to Sharad to even the Winter. ---TR

The Banyan tree in fruit "Figs" -June 2011.

    2nd July 2011.
    Greetings
It is Mother Natures gift that we see flowers in the hot summer and fruit and figs & berries on Trees-
A typical eg is the Banyan tree (Ficus Bengelasis)  2 km away from my house in the San Thome-Foreshore area.I photographed this recently -see below.
I have covered this Tree in detail in earlier Blogs posts, but never got a chance to photograph the fruit-
Ficus is from FIGS--see red fruit -
