The Giant Cactus at Madras Theosophical Society and others,

The Cactus takes a special place in Gods Creation. It is a hardy plant and at its best in survival in harsh desert conditions.
The giant cactus is seen in desert conditions, where other plants cannot survive and has been a source of water in its pulp for Desert Travellers -who have actually survived on it and lived to tell it.

It is also seen as a ornamental plant, with flowers - esp. the shorter variety  and is grown in homes- seen below  in lower pictures.

  1. The top pic I had taken in Theosophical society is the Saguro Cactus; often depicted in Western Films.
